You can quit out of the chapter right away and do not need to reach the next checkpoint. After getting a collectible, it will instantly be saved. The treasures can also be tracked in the extras menu.
There is a collectible counter for each chapter.
You can keep track of your collectible progress in chapter select. The game consists of 9 chapters, a prologue, and epilogue. Note: Using weapon and gameplay modifier/cheat options do not disable earning any trophies. Successfully complete the game on any difficulty to unlock multiple categories of options at the "Bonus" menu, including cheats like infinite ammo.
